Sunday School

“Jesus said: ‘Let the little children come to me.’”  Trinity Church is blessed with a Sunday School where we teach children scripture and work toward loving them unconditionally. We strive for participatory learning, encourage the children to play roles in worship, and seek to build multi-generational supportive relationships.

Sunday School meets during the word portion of our Eucharistic worship.  Teams of adults lead six- or seven-week blocks that correlate with church calendar seasons such as Lent and Easter. The teachers bring a variety of skills and teaching styles to their sessions.  One team used virtual reality to transport the children to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Rome in the time of Jesus.  Other teams used drama, and crafts with the lessons.  We sometimes divide the children into age groups to allow older students to have more in-depth discussions.  We are mindful of Jesus words: “whoever does not enter the Kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” (Mk 10:15/Lk 18:17)
